Rental Properties

Many people are looking to become landlords.  There are always tenants out there who are looking for a place to live.  You can find housing for a good price and then start leasing it out to people.  This is a great way to boost your income every month, see a return on this.  If you use the rental income to make improvements on the properties that you own, you will be able to charge more for the rent and attract better tenants to rent from you.  This is a great benefit, and it can produce income for the rest of your life, with relatively little risk or investment costs.

If you are willing to take a little more risk, you may want to buy a few of those “fixer-uppers” that are out there.  You can often get them dirt cheap, put the money in to fix them, and then sell them back on the market.  You may not always know what you are getting yourself into; the cheaper a property sells for, the less the realty company needs to tell you.  In some cases, you may not even get to see the inside of the house to determine just how much work needs to be done.  But if you know what you are doing, you can easily see a huge amount of profit from your investment. New businesses are opening all of the time.  If you have more money to invest at first, you should consider this option.  Lending a company the money that they need to rent or purchase the property that they want, you can become a partial owner of the company and receive a percentage of their profits.  There is a certain amount of risk involved in this, but if you choose to lend to the right company you will see a huge amount of cash back into your pocket right away, as well as over the next few decades if the company runs as expected.

It all comes down to how much you want to put into your investment, how much risk you are willing to take, and how much time and work you expect to put into the properties that you invest in.  Flipping houses requires the highest amount of work and risk, but it can also involve a huge amount of profit over a brief period of time.  There is a little risk involved in a business investment since you cannot guarantee that a company will make money, but it can show a good return later on.  Rental properties are a great choice because they often provide steady income over a long period of time with an intermediate amount of work performed on the houses you own.
